What should you check before buying an electric truck?

An electric truck runs on a battery pack and electric motor instead of a diesel engine. The numbers that matter are certified range per charge, battery size in kWh, charging time on the charger you will actually use, and payload, since battery weight eats into it. Running cost per km is lower than diesel; purchase price is higher.

Electric trucks suit fixed daily routes that return to a depot for overnight charging, such as last-mile delivery, city distribution and port or plant shuttles. Many states waive or cut road tax and registration fees on electric goods vehicles; check your state EV policy.
